The Tustin Literary Foundation is dedicated to enriching Tustin’s cultural landscape by promoting literature, poetry, and local playwrights.

We aim to foster creative expression for all ages. Through diverse programs and events, we seek to inspire lifelong learning, showcase local talent, and encourage a deeper appreciation for the arts within our community.

The Arvida Review

A Literary Journal to Make Tustin Proud!

Starting this spring we will be publishing The Arvida Review, featuring a collection of unique short stories and illustrations from local artists.

We are open for submissions from December 1st through February 15th, 2024. We encourage all writers to submit any original works of fiction. There will be a contributor honorarium payable upon publication as well as a grant of $250 issued to selected writers that consider Tustin home funded by The Tustin Area Council for Fine Arts (TACFA). The $10 submission fee can be waived for special circumstances – just email publishing@arvidabookco.com with any requests. No submissions will be accepted via email.

What we accept:

  • Brief fictional prose narrative between 1,000 and 10,000 words in length.
  • Any genre, so long as it adheres to the theme of the issue—COMMUNITY
  • Published and unpublished work, so long as the author has copyrights.

What We Prefer:

  • Authors local to Tustin and surrounding Orange County areas.
  • Authors with strong voices who write underrepresented narratives.
  • Unpublished work.

What we DO NOT accept:

  • Poetry
  • Personal nonfiction essays
  • We cannot accept work that is due to be published elsewhere in a collection or as a chapter of a novel and we do not have the ability to pay reprint rights.

Allie Rigby is a poet, editor, and educator with roots in the chaparral and desert landscapes of Southern California. Her writing appears in Parentheses Journal, PostScript Magazine, Manzano Mountain Review, Living on Earth Radio, and more.

Allie received a master’s degree in English: Creative Writing from San Francisco State University where she was awarded the William Dickey Fellowship. Recent honors include a Pushcart Prize nomination, a Best of the Net nomination, a Fulbright Fellowship to Romania, and contribution to Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference.

Moonscape for a Child is her debut poetry collection (Bored Wolves, 2024).
