Meet the Masters

“Art education is particularly important during a child’s formative years.” said Barbara Foster, President, Tustin Area Council for Fine Arts.

The Art Masters program integrates history, criticism and aesthetics with exciting studio art projects while providing added benefits of cultural learning. With colorful slides and engrossing stories, Art Master lectures bring to life the paintings and biographies of the world's most famous artists. Students learn to recognize artistic elements, become better observers, and expand their vocabulary as they gain a lasting appreciation of art.

For the past two years, TACFA has paid, and provided volunteers for the Art Masters program at Heideman and Beswick Elementary schools. TUSD Superintendent Richard Bray has acknowledged the success of this TACFA-run program in Tustin's under-served elementary schools. In all, the TACFA-sponsored program gives a sampling of art history to over 1,200 K-5 students in the TUSD.
