2017 TACFA 25th Anniversary Soiree

Who would believe that TACFA would still be going strong after 25 years? With the vision of a small group of local citizens whose dream it was to support and perpetuate the arts in the Greater Tustin Area, the Tustin Area Council for Fine Arts was born in 1992. Led by Barbara Benson, this cadre of creative people worked with the City of Tustin to identify the need to offer enriching cultural and artistic experiences throughout the year.

On Saturday, June 24th, 2017 celebrated its achievements over the past 25 years with song and dance. Music was supplied with TACFA’s newest partners, Southern California Philharmonic (SCP) and with dancers from the Tustin Dance Center (TDC). Many of TACFA’s past presidents (Linda Jennings, Diane Aust, Barbara Foster, Susan Dobak, Sharyn Sakimoto, Bonny Atzeff, and Bob Machado) came to the event. It was a very special treat to have Kim Benson and Derek Benson, daughter and grandson of founder Barbara Benson, honor us with their attendance. Held in a lovely home in North Tustin, on a warm summer evening, guests were treated to selections from “Annie! by Daddy Warbucks and Annie lead actors. There were various styles of music and song ensembles from SCP musicians, then exciting dance routines from TDC!
