FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: May 2, 2008
Grant
Money Available for Artists
$25,000
to encourage the arts and artists in the Tustin Community
The Tustin Area Council for Fine Arts (TACFA) is offering
Fine Arts Grants to further its purpose of supporting the arts and
artists in the greater Tustin community. Individual artists who
live, work, or operate within the boundaries of the Tustin Unified
School District are eligible to apply, as well as organizations
that operate within those boundaries. Any type of fine arts activity---for
example music, painting, woodworking, photography, film, or dance—qualifies
for grant consideration. TACFA’s goal is to reach out to a
broad group of deserving talent, creating new or benefiting existing
local arts shows, projects, programs, or activities.
Diane Aust, TACFA President, said, “We encourage
all interested individuals to apply. We are open to and enthusiastic
about many different kinds of art, so we hope artists or groups
don’t hesitate to apply because they are unsure if they qualify.”
Up to $25,000 in total grant funds will be available
this year, with a maximum award of $5,000 per grant; partial grants
may also be awarded.
Applications are now
available on the TACFA website at www.tacfa.org;
by calling 714-518-5519; or by writing a request to TACFA, Post
Office Box 145, Tustin, CA 92781. Applications must be postmarked
by June 14, 2008, and grants will be funded by September 1, 2008.
TACFA is a philanthropic organization dedicated to
developing and fostering the arts in the greater Tustin area through
school outreach programs, scholarships for art education, and support
and showcasing of local artists. For more information on TACFA,
