The
Orange County Department of Educataion (OCDE) Honors TACFA
The Orange County Department of Education (OCDE)
honored the Tustin Area Council for Fine Arts (TACFA) with its Outstanding
Contributions to Education Award on Thursday, January 10, at the
OCDE headquarters.
This award recognizes those whose contributions
have greatly benefited the education of Orange County students.
Nominated by Dr Stephanie Paggi, Chief Academic Officer for the
Tustin Unified School District, TACFA was chosen for its exceptional
contributions to Tustin area schools with such programs as Meet
the Masters, the annual Student Art Show, the Music Guild, and the
Barbara Benson Memorial Scholarships. OCDE board member Dr Ken Williams
presented the award to Barbara Foster, last year’s TACFA president,
and current TACFA president Diane Aust. TACFA attendees also included
Susan Dobak, Wendy Greene, and Mercita McClain. Aust stated, “TACFA
members very much appreciate this recognition of the work that we
love to do in the Tustin community. We are grateful for the encouragement
and support this award brings to our organization.”
Representing the TUSD at the awards ceremony were
District Superintendent Richard Bray, Stephanie Paggi, and Mark
Eliot; and Board of Education members Lynn Davis, Jonathan Abelove
(also a TACFA Board Member), and Tammy Bullard.

TACFA is a philanthropic organization dedicated
to developing and fostering the arts in the greater Tustin area
through school outreach programs, scholarships for art education,
and support and showcasing of local artists. For more information
