Tustin Art League Events
Art historian and dynamic speaker Jack King will be featured at the Wednesday, September 9, 2009, meeting of the Tustin Art League (TAL). “Intimate Stories,” as told by Mr. King, features the great artists, their triumphs and failures, and concludes with a story from the Renaissance starring a young artist, a beautiful girl, a young duke and a vampire. The program begins at 7:00 pm in the Tustin Unified School District Board room, 300 South C St. Interested artists and members of the public are welcome to visit as guests. Light snacks will be served.
Artwork from TAL’s Member Show is currently on display in the Senior Center Gallery and will be available for viewing Monday through Friday 8:00a.m. to 5:00 p.m. through Sept. 30. Member artists have submitted a variety of works that include watercolor, acrylic, oil, collage, encaustic, and mixed media. An artists’ reception will be held on Friday, September 18, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Awards will be presented to winners of a competition judged by John Powers, artist and owner of the Old Town Art Gallery in Tustin. The public is invited to meet the artists, view their works, and enjoy some refreshments.
